Asalamualaikum brothers and sisters, My sister is expecting a baby girl and voiced her concern to me by saying that her husband wishes to name the baby girl Haram. She’s concerned due to the fact that Haram in Islam means forbidden. We live in Canada and her name may be mispronounced. I wanted to know if naming the baby Haram would be okay or not islamically.
